This outstanding unit is incredibly strong with both frame and mounting brackets being constructed from heavy duty stainless steel. The seat itself is made from 1 and 3/8 inch teak battens that are spaced for ideal drainage, are rounded for safety, and are all hand sanded to create a silky smooth, slip resistant, sturdy place to sit while you shower. This unit, when properly mounted to a wall backing per ADA standard requirements, generally between seventeen and nineteen inches high, depending on the needs of the user, will hold up to three hundred pounds. The shape of this unit and the ability to fold it up and out of the way when it's not in use, makes it much easier for access and egress by users who also need a daily mobility device. This bench is designed so that you can easily back right up to it and then either lift yourself onto the bench, or have your caregiver help you onto the bench.
